That’s the million dollar question isn’t it? How badly do you want to do whatever it is you have to do. This may be my shortest blog ever. But the question is true for what ever it is you’re doing. I know because I face it everyday. It stares me in the face when I wake up and when I go to bed and all the time in between. For any number of situations that I face daily the question is: How Bad Do You Want It?
Learning Japanese, and losing weight are two examples of things in my life to which this question applies. Take losing weight. When asked this question, the answer is I REALLY NEED to do this for my continued health. But do I really mean it? What steps am I taking to make it a reality. There are certain things that need to be done in order to make this a reality – The Lifestyle changes that need to be made in Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunlight, Temperance (Self Control), Air, Rest and Trust in Divine Power are essential to making that a reality.
Next is learning Japanese. I have wanted to learn Japanese ever since my daughter started and continues to teach herself Japanese. It was simply amazing to see her blossom and find ways to do that. She doggedly took the time to find the right tools and is so good that she is now teaching me. The student has become the teacher. It all depends on what you spend your time on. It’s great to WANT to do something, but until you spend time at it, it will continue to be JUST a dream. So now I have taken steps to learn Japanese, and I know enough to introduce myself to someone. In just 6 minutes. It is is not hard. It just depends on how much you want to learn or do something.
So you want to learn to play an instrument by air? How much do you REALLY want to do it? How much time are you willing to invest in this project? I know that it can take a lot of time to get to the point where you can play out in public, but I know that it will generate a great feeling of accomplishment and joy when you are finally able to Play It By Ear!
Yes. Yes. Yes. There are so many things we say we “want” to do yet we choose to spend our time somewhere else. A desire without action is just a dream. Congratulations on starting to learn Japanese!!!!!
Thanks Debbie. I’m going to keep on moving forward till I meet my goals
This is absolutely right. You will accomplish the goals that you set for yourself if that is what you really want. I wanted to learn Spanish… and I did. I wanted to learn to draw and paint… and I am still a work in progress with that. I wanted to walk 500 miles with a group… and I did!
If you want to do something, you will find ways to make it happen, and you’ll be so happy with the result!
Just go for it!

Ah yes. But … but.
I want to lose excess weight that’s growing around my stomach. But my husband won’t listen to me. He does the cooking. He gets annoyed if I won’t eat desert. It’s his fault. chuckle.
